Frederic, Jardin du Luxembourg

This boy was so cute and shy I wanted to eat his face. But I didn't. You know why? Because I'm classy.

High bun, Paris

Though he is making this silly face, this guy was actually pretty hostile and not very cute in the personality. He just made this very exclusive archive of cuteness because he is wearing a high bun. Though I know lots of girls who approve of this look, boys seem to be universally against it...but not French boys!

Air guitar solo, Paris

If this guy's sunglasses, clowny-polka-dot shirt, two types of plaid and self-satisfied smirk weren't enough hotness for you, he was also fully doing an air guitar solo while walking down the street. I felt bad interrupting him since he was obviously really into it. He appeared to be about 18...which makes him a total babe!

Eddy, Velo Vintage, Paris

This dude is such a cool dude! Look at his shirt, it says parisparispariparisparis...because he's from Paris! He owns a rad store that buys old french bikes and refurbishes them. If you are in Paris and want to buy one go to velo vintage! They are really good-looking bikes!

Romeo, Tobago

I probably shouldn't post this because the quality is so bad, but I had to go into my archives since my camera ran out of batteries at the WORST time today. Since you can't see the picture you'll have to trust me that Romeo is a very good-looking person.

He was dating some lame German tourist girl with dreads when I met him and it almost killed me.

Adem, 11e, Paris

This was taken at the cutest place ever. It's called "La Machine a Ecrire" and it's like Tequila Bookworm (Toronto) if it were styled by Edward Gorey. There are typewriters and books hanging from the ceiling, wallpaper with prints of typewriters and the support pillars are papier macheed into scary trees.

And then there is this adorable bartender boy and his fabulous suit. Mais y'est trop mignon quoi!

Paris Trailer

Tomorrow I will start loading pictures of Paris boys, provided I don't nervously poo my pants too many times trying to approach them (4 times and counting). I missed way too many beauties today, mostly of the Algerian/ambiguously African hipster variety.

Another deterrent: Parisian men have an unfortunate habit of combining nice enough cat calls ("you're too cute", "hello pretty young lady") with grunting sighs of relief that make you feel like they just drive-by came on your face. And I'm three hundred pounds with a lazy eye and an oozing facial goiter, so I don't even know what they say to the other girls.

Rob, International Waters

After assuring me that my having a sprained ankle did not mean I would instantly die of a blood clot in the brain once we got into the air, Rob regaled me with cute boy stories like how he once tried to bike across an entire state to see a girlfriend, then got caught in a hail storm and had to hitchike the rest of the way.

Oh...and!..he is #2 ranked steeple chaser in Canada going to compete in France for his olympic time. whoot! you know what that means, that's right, say hello to your next model of fine Canada-themed fleece and leather goods. (your days are numbered Ross Rebigliati, you miscreant!!!!!!)

Phil, Toronto

Lovable Phil in Kensington Market. Another boy who always has a sweet face seriousing it up for his glamour shot. Usually he has carebear hearts coming out of his stomach. But you can't see them in the picture because they're magical and magic is camera invisible (true science fact).

Kaelah,Casa Del Papaya, Toronto

Kaewonder cooking up dinner (like real man). Wait actually, he's just standing next to the dinner his girlfriend cooked. But he often cooks dinner. This is a dramatization of him cooking dinner... so manly!

Edward, Kensington, Toronto

The other thing I realized today is that I chose the absolute worst name for this blog. I think it's because I only was taking pictures of friends before that I didn't notice that it's TOTALLY EMBARRASSING telling people when they ask what the picture is for. Oh I also realized it's impossible to run away from people on pedestrian Sundays in Kensington.

Edward made his own pants. And I just noticed he's wearing a shirt that says bluegrass Canada. So cute!

Outside Manic, Toronto

I realized today that I have more or less no fucking idea how to use my camera even though about five people have taught me. As evidenced by this dark blurry shot of a very cute boy. I don't know his name because he ran away.

Bryan\Larry, Toronto

The always handsome Bryan\Larry. He does art.

P.J. , Toronto

P.J. kept trying to make serious model faces but it was difficult because he is such a nicey he can't look mean. This is "oh there's something serious happening in the distance" a classic look.

Declan, Toronto

When everyone decided it was cool to be a nerd it became hard to tell the real from the fake. But Declan is the realest. He does science and ice-fishing and those are only the two that I know. Oh, he also wears a bike helmet.

However, it is also FACT that Declan had a silver velour suit as early as 99!!! Unheard of!

Keith and Robot, Toronto

When Keith came to see our apartment I voted for him as a roomate almost exclusively based on his face and clothes. But I forgot that when you live with people they morph into siblings. So you can't become boyfriend\girlfriend or else you make deformed babies.

Here he is reading poetry to our robot. He is really smart at book reading!

Friendly Greg, Citizen of the World

Friendly Greg is the best dude! He speaks four languages and is really good at life and bicycling and making sandwiches and wearing suede coats with tassles. Sometimes people think he's pretentious because he talks about things like the opera...but it's only because he really likes things like the opera.

Yann, Montreal

Yann is my common-law brother in law. He is very good at internetting. And not facebook internetting which I am also very good at, but cryptic alien language internetting. He is also the "Y" in the famous travel blog Y-E travels linked on the right.

Monday, May 5, 2008

Cristian, Chile

Cutest boy in Santiago.

Sunday, May 4, 2008

Australian Pete, Toronto

Look at that pose. I think Pete knows how cute he is...

French Guy, Venezuela

This was taken at a tiny beach-side hotel in a village on the Carribbean coast.

I don't really know anything about this boy. I kept trying to talk to him using really sneaky tactics like talking to his friend. Well, that was my only tactic, and it led to a lot of talking to his friend.

He looks like he would be cold to everyone but really really nice to his girlfriend. When he was a teen he probably listened to TTC and smoked blunts but has since changed his ways. The perfect man!

Eduardo, Bogota

I was intimidated by all the beautiful flowing fashion mullets when I arrived in Bogota. Even the businessmen wear them like it ain't no thang. This boy in particular had a lovely one and he was quite lovely as well.

This picture was taken at an afterparty. When I was invited I pictured a piles of coke on glass table tops high-heeled glamour party. But apparently Colombian kids like good clean fun so it actually turned out to be ten people dancing salsa in a brightly lit apartment where you weren't allowed to smoke inside.

Spanish Raul, Peru

This picture was taken in Ica, Peru during their annual wine festival. It ended up being pretty expensive so Raul convinced everyone that it would be just as fun to drink homemade liquor from the corner store that you payed for through a locked metal gate. It tasted a bit like fruit punch and a lot like yeast and cost $1 for a two litre bottle.
He walked really really fast even when we weren't going anywhere. Originally I thought it was because he was on drugs but I think he was just high on life. He is juggling here. He was very good at juggling.

Argentinian Emiliano, Venezuela

Emiliano was so beautiful I didn't know what to do with myself. Plus he didn't speak English and I didn't speak Spanish yet so I was free to believe he had a perfect personality and a heart of gold. Which I still assume is more or less true. He owns a bar in Buenos Aires.
This picture was taken in the back of a truck that was going to a house in the mountains surrounding Merida. We made a barbeque and everyone talked while I cobbled inane sentences like "my shoes are dirty" with my dictionary to try and win his heart.
